The journey to the Moonstone did not seem like an out of the ordinary visit to ShadowClan-- Rosestar had announced that she would go to consult their warrior ancestors about the acceptance of Greypaw, and also to take Nightpaw to see the sacred communal place before her warrior ceremony. Perhaps a few eyebrows might be raised at her request for Sparrowpelt to come with her, but there was far more talk about the kittypet that had been allowed to join their ranks for many of their warriors to think about it too much.
The threat of the remainder of Leaftalon's rogues had left the russet leader uneasy, and she could see the same in her medicine cat. If StarClan were trying to communicate with them, they needed to make haste, under the guise of another issue as to not upset the clan. For if StarClan were trying to send signs about another attack... Surely, there would be unrest and panic. Some of her warriors would be zealous for a fight, Rosestar mused, but they had only started to recover from a harsh leaf-bare. For now, keeping things quiet was best.
Rosestar looked over at Nightpaw, who was now no longer much of a kit of an apprentice but a full-grown warrior. Her ceremony would be soon. Perhaps when they got back... They were waiting outside the barn now, the cool spring-- almost summer-- air rustling through fur comfortably. The sun was almost finished setting. "You can catch more prey if you'd like Nightpaw. It's just those that communicate with StarClan that cannot eat. You will need your energy to watch over us."
Rosestar didn't say anything, since she was sure Nightpaw and Sparrowpelt could smell it, but there was a strange scent that did not belong to any clan cat or the loners that frequented the barn. It was fairly stale-- a week old-- but it was unsettling. If the rogues were to cut off communication with StarClan, it would not just be ShadowClan that suffered.
The entire forest could be thrown into chaos.
